The Chief Mate II Course prepares officers seeking to obtain their Chief Mate (FG) Certificate of Competency as Merchant Marine captains with advanced training that builds upon Phase 1 of the total curriculum. What is Eligibility for Chief Mate Phase-II?

2. A second mate CoC issued by DG Shipping or equivalent authority.

3. Approved sea service as a second officer as per IMO Guidance under STCW

4. Valid STCW mandatory certificates including advanced fire fighting and medical care.
