The Marine Engine Room Simulator (ERS-M) course consists of an advanced training program that meets the standards of STCW training competency. It is designed for the marine engineer with an MEO Class IV Certificate of Competency. The course duration is 5 days in length and will enable the mariner to develop their skills related to real-time operation, supervision and control of machinery onboard ships in an immersive/virtual environment. The ERS-M course is intended to enhance those skills as the mariner continues to advance to levels of greater responsibility conferred by the engine room (in terms of watchkeeping, problem solving, decision-making and safety management) and ultimately prepare them for greater responsibilities in the engine department.
