GMDSS Course in Delhi

The Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) course is a 12-day DG Shipping approved course, which is mandatory for operating radio and satellite communication equipment in distress situations while at sea.

The course is designed to last 17 days, including the study of the theoretical and practical aspects of the equipment. On the completion of the examination, the candidate is granted a General Operator Certificate (GOC) from the Ministry of Communication, which has lifetime validity.

                          Who is Eligible for the GMDSS course?

The candidate should meet at least one of the following conditions to undergo the GMDSS course:

• Having passed the 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

• Deck Cadets appearing for the 2nd Mate (FG) examination.

• Nautical officers who are in possession of or pursuing a Certificate of Competency.

• Marine Radio Officers who are in possession of a Certificate of Proficiency.

• All the candidates should be of at least 18 years of age.

GMDSS Course E-Learning

As per the current guidelines, there is no requirement of an e-learning course for the GMDSS course, as it is a completely offline course with a simulator component.
