High Voltage Operational(HV-O) Course in Chandigarh
The High Voltage Operation Course is a short course, aligned with the STCW, designed for marine engineers and electrical officers working on board ships that have electrical systems operating at greater than 1000 volts. This course will give you basic High Voltage Installation Knowledge and Safety Operating Procedures, along with layout of the systems, types of protection devices, potential hazards, and Safety procedures to keep personnel safe when working on / near High Voltage systems on board vessels. Practically based training will allow you to Gain Knowledge and Skills to safely operate with High Voltage systems and/or switchgear on board vessels, as well as meeting the Knowledge and Proficiency requirements at an Operational Competency level per international shipping regulations. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be issued an internationally recognised Certificate of Competency for the operation of high voltage equipment at sea.

What is Eligibility for HV-O Course?
To qualify for the High Voltage Operational (HV Operational) Course for the Merchant Navy, candidates typically must meet the following criteria:
You must be an Electrical Engine or Engineer: Either Electro-Technical Officer (ETO), Marine Engineer or Engine Cadet.
Education Requirements: All Cadets must have completed their 10+2 in Science with Physics, Maths and Chemistry. Officers that are already serving may not need this education requirement.
Sea Experience Requirement: For Officers this is required for refresher and certification-type courses. For Cadets, Sea Experience is not always a requirement.
Health Requirements: You must meet the standard maritime medical requirements for an "Ability to Perform Shipboard Duties".
Age Requirements: You must be 18 years of age or older.
