The total propelling time must account for at least two-thirds of the relevant sea service period.
2. For Combined (Motor and Steam)
Requires 40 months total service (20 months motor + 20 months steam), including at least 12 months with a Combined MEO Class II CoC.
Service as a 2nd Engineer for 12 months reduces the total requirement to 36 months (18 months motor + 18 months steam).
Propelling time requirements of two-thirds total sea service apply.
