MEO Class - I Preparatory Course Eligibility

To enroll in the MEO Class - I Preparatory Course, candidates must satisfy the following criteria as per DG Shipping guidelines:

1.  For Motor/Steam

• Must have completed 36 months of sea service as an Engineer Officer on watch, including at least 12 months holding an MEO Class II CoC. If the candidate has 12 months of sea service specifically as a 2nd Engineer for Steam/Motor, the total requirement is reduced to 24 months.

• Actual propelling time must constitute at least two-thirds of the total sea service period.

2. For Combine (Motor and Steam)

• Must have completed 40 months of sea service (20 months Motor + 20 months Steam), including at least 12 months holding a combined MEO Class II CoC. If the candidate has 12 months as a 2nd Engineer for Steam/Motor, this is reduced to 36 months (18 months Motor + 18 months Steam).

• Propelling time must be at least two-thirds of the corresponding sea service period.

• INDoS Id

• A valid CDC with proof of at least 18 months of sea service

• MEO Class II Certificate of Competency (CoC)
