MEO Class 2 Preparatory Course is a 4-month DG shipping-approved course, the main objectives are to prepare a candidate to appear for the examinations of MEO Class 2 of the Certificate of Competency as Second Engineer of a Foreign going Ship.
This course covers part of the education and training required under Regulation II/2 and aims to meet the standards of competence specified in Section A-II/2 of the STCW 95. Appendix M-II/2A of META Manual Vol. II and IMO Model course 7.01 should be used in the preparation of material for this course.
The MEO Class 2 CoC is valid for a period of 5 years.
MEO Class 2 Preparatory Course Eligibility
To attend the MEO Class 2 Preparatory Course, you need to clear all of the points mentioned below.
Must have completed 12 months of Sea service with 240 days of propelling time as a Class IV Marine Engineer.
An INDOS number is mandatory.
