Refresher Medical Care Course Description
The Refresher Course for Medicare Certification (RMC) is a six-hour training course certified by the Directorate General of Shipping. It is particularly tailored for offering the appropriate training and updating of the knowledge base of the mariners in order for them to upgrade their medical care certification according to D.G. Shipping guidelines.
In order to retain the high level of proficiency in offering medical services on board, the medical professionals who already possess the certificate of medical care are required to attend the refresher course every five years.

Eligibility for Refresher MC Course
Prospective candidates for the Refresher Medical Care Course must meet the following mandatory requirements:
Possession of a mandatory INDoS number.
Status as a Deck officer currently holding a valid Medical Care Course certificate.
Prior review of MS Notice 13 of 2020 and DGS Order 36 of 2020 is essential before finalizing enrollment.
