Refresher Training for Medical Care (RMC) refers to a 6-hour training which is compulsory for seafarers. Endorsed by the Directorate General of Shipping, RMC has been designed only for those mariners who have a valid certificate in Medical Care (MC). This training enables them to keep themselves updated and competent about dealing with medical emergencies on board as per the guidelines of STCW Convention.

Validity of this certificate lasts for five years after which the individual needs to take another refresher course to comply with the guidelines. Curriculum for this program covers emergency medical care procedures and usage of life saving medical devices effectively.
