Second Mate Competency Course in Chandigarh
Second Mate (FG) Competency Course is a training course that runs for four months. This course is accredited by DG Shipping. Its purpose is to offer candidates the skills required to successfully undertake the Second Mate Certificate of Competency examinations on foreign-going ships.
In line with the competency requirements set out in Regulation II/1 and STCW 95 Section A-II/1, the course content is drawn from the IMO Model Course 7.03 and META Manual Volume II Appendix M-II/1C.
The Certificate of Competency issued will be valid for five years after which officers will have to undertake the RUT Course for Masters & Deck Officers in order to extend the validity period.
